understandingAI is a prompt engineering platform that helps people get dramatically better results from AI tools. The average person uses fewer than 12 words in a prompt and unlocks less than 1% of what AI can do. understandingAI teaches the other 99%.
We build system prompt generators for the 12 most widely used AI tools - ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, Midjourney, DALL-E, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and OpenAI Codex. Our tools produce master prompts that configure how AI behaves for an entire conversation, so you stop re-explaining yourself every time and start getting consistent, high-quality results.

understandingAI is an independent product built and operated by wBuild.dev, a small bootstrapped studio focused on building practical tools for developers, creators, and knowledge workers.
We use the tools we build. Every prompt template and technique on this site has been tested against real AI models, not just described theoretically.

The free tier of understandingAI gives you access to the ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini prompt builders with up to 3 builds per month - no account required. Pro unlocks all 12 AI tools, unlimited builds, Advanced mode with deeper question sets, and features including vault, history, PDF export, and team sharing.
Pro is priced at $19/month or $149/year. Payments are processed securely via Freemius.
AI disclosure
understandingAI uses the Anthropic API to power parts of its prompt generation features in Advanced mode. Generated prompts are starting points, not finished products. We recommend reviewing and editing any AI-generated output before using it.
